For the Willett family, distilling craft whiskey is a family tradition. During Reconstruction, John David Willett — the family patriarch — began distilling whiskey at the Moore, Willett & Frenke Distillery, which was situated just outside of Louisville, Kentucky. In 1898, his son, A. Lambert Willett — who was 15 years old at the time — began following in his father's footsteps. Three decades later, Lambert, together with his son, Thompson purchased a farm on the outskirts of Bardstown, Kentucky, and began construction of the Willett Distilling Company. While the Willett Distilling Company eventually changed its name to Kentucky Bourbon Distillers, the family tradition lives on — Even Kulsveen, the current owner of KBD, is Thompson Willett's son-in-law.

In keeping with family tradition, Willett Pot Still Reserve is a mean single-barrel Kentucky straight bourbon. Aged for between eight and ten years, Willett Pot Still Reserve earned the Gold Medal for taste at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition in 2008, and the Double Gold Medal for design. Its unique shape and design are meant to resemble the pot still that was used for generations at the Willett Distilling Company. Soft and elegant on the nose, this bourbon has slight notes of vanilla, coconut and cinnamon.

Each bottle is sealed with a label identifying the individual aging barrel, the number of the bottle within the series of bottles for that barrel, and the total number of bottles from the barrel.

The Willett family legacy lives on in Willett Pot Still Reserve.

C. Whisky & Whiskey is not responsible for any lost shipments, including but not limited to packages lost because of hold requests or delivery rescheduling.

D. If the package is returned due to failed delivery, a twenty-five percent (25%) restocking fee will be deducted from your refund. Shipping costs will not be refunded.

E. If the package is returned to Whisky & Whiskey damaged because of failed delivery attempts or refusal of delivery, you are responsible for the full cost of the order.

F. You must be at least 21 years of age to order and a signature of someone at least 21 years of age is required upon delivery.

G. The customer is solely responsible for the shipment of alcohol and must abide by their local and state laws.

Smooth and easy to drink straight

Great Bourbon!

Great bourbon but the enclosed gift card notification was NOT enclosed. The recipients were delighted with Willett Pot Still Reserve Straight Bourbon Whiskey but didn’t have a clue who sent as a remembrance of their recently departed family member.

Ordered the same product with expensive expedited shipping for only one to go out on time.

Ordered Lagavulin in two separate order with 10 minutes of each other. The first order has still failed to ship which need to be delivered before Christmas. Showed in stock but only the second order made it. Still don't have the second order. Nobody will answer the phone, or email. When i try the stupid chat it just takes me to my order info. The only progress that has been made is they changed my order from awaiting fulfillment to confirmed. Was going to try to cancel, but after you order you will not find that as an option anywhere. Since they don't respond to email or answer phones I guess I will have to take it up with my credit card company. I going to give it a couple more days, but I'm not having a lot of faith that anything is going to happen. Should have just went to ABC liquor.

Not Impressed

I placed an order on 16 Apr W&W charged my card. On 17 Apr I received an email thanking me for my order. I fully expected my order to arrive in 5-7 business days approximately 25 Apr. No package arrived and no email. I attempted to email and call W&W several times, no response. I did finally receive my order on 12 May almost a month after placing my order. I personally don't consider this as fast or quick service.

Gift

This was a Christmas gift for my brother. He loved the bottle of whiskey. Will definitely order from this place again.
