History
Maker's Mark has been produced in Loretto, Kentucky since 1954. The recipe for the bourbon was developed by Bill Samuels Sr., who baked bread with different grains to finalize the bourbon's grain mixture. The distillery was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1974 and designated a National Historic Landmark in 1980. The Maker's Mark 46 was released in 2010 as the first line extension of Maker's Mark, named after the profile number given to it during experimentation.
